Prayer Warriors

Someone In Need

March 16, 2007

Today, after driving home from picking the boys up from school, I stopped to help a young lady change a tire. Teresa (I hope that I got that right), has had a run of bad news. Obviously, the tire, then and exhusband who decided to take things from her home for his addiction to be supported, vehicle damaged and in need of repairs, children's education difficulty as well as a washing machine issue. I do not bring up this with Teresa to make me out to be some great guy that is doing great things... I hope that this will spark others to do the kind thing, as well as pray for her and her needs.

Sunday, at church... fantastic day for the Lord. He has had close on 60 people, in ONE SERVICE, commit their lives to Him in Baptism. For the entire weekend services combined, somewhere near 200 people have given their lives to Him. This, on the same day as many of you reading this, are thinking about doing the same. The time you wait, could be the time that He comes back to call His own. I don't know what Heaven really has in store, except for the words of my Great Granddaddy, 10 minutes after they pronounced him dead. He awoke, clutching my Great Ganny's hand and said... it's just like they say, streets of gold, land of milk and honey. He told her, it isn't her time, she needed to be patient, and that he would wait... then he passed. WOW, chills to this day. I only hope that God sees fit for me to be near my family, my wife and boys. I would be happy to be the maid that cleans my wife's mansion, if that is what it takes to be near her.

Wendy Durnwald, who is one of the staff members at Horizon Christian Academy has a Grandmother that recently passed away. When I first heard this, just like you, it made my heart sad. Well, not that my heart doesn't feel sad now, I do... except in a strange way... I feel happy. You see, this story has a happy ending, at least to me. Grandmother (umm, I don't know her name), lost her husband a good number of years back to Alzheimer's, a terrible disease. Well, Grandmother manages to continue on, joining different clubs and groups, staying extremely active and on her own. At age, get this, age 95, she takes ill and passes away. Now, obviously, it is very sad that she has passed away, but think of what a wonderful life she must have had. Roughly 95 years old, the things she has seen, the things she now is seeing. What a great life story to share with those in heaven, to share with her husband that passed years ago. God never forgets about you or me, and He must have thought she had been away from her husband long enough. Sad that she is gone, yes... but happy that she had the life she did.
